I Suppose I Have To Be Careful

I think, at the outset, I should say that I actually believe in what the department I work for does, am sick to death of it being attacked without any proper political defence, while having its claws drawn in, it's teeth extracted, and its functions starved by a government who don't give a toss. I have some respect for many of the senior staff here, but as in any organisation, I'm allowed to think my lords, ladies, masters and mistresses may also be total fuckwits.

It is called the freedom of thought and speech. Yes, I know it is a myth, but we should at least have the pretence that is thus.

Now she may have been misusing the computer, in breach of our arcane terms and conditions, and she may have been rubbing people up the wrong way. But the zeal these people pursue those who don't toe the party line is a little Stalinesque, wouldn't you say? After all, if you keep having mistruths thrown at you by NGOs, why not stand up to your own internal critics? Aren't you good enough to do that?

As I said, the department I work in is one I am glad I joined. The people I've met have been friends for a long time and will continue to be, the department stuck by me when my parents died, and I will never forget their generosity and amenability to my circumstances, and I've been to some interesting places. They have given me an oppprtunity, a good job, great experience, and I owe them a lot. I owe them my thoughts on what they are doing wrong, if I care to publish them. Not that they'd care, but disciplining us?

As for the politicians? I think you can tell from my posts on Life of a Lord as to my views on those despicable trough snoutting scumbags....
